Durante los pasados días 5, 6 y 7 de Septiembre de 2017, el Centro Internacional UNESCO para las Reservas de la Biosfera Mediterránea se convirtió en la sede del II Encuentro de Gestores de las Reservas de la Biosfera Mediterránea y el MEDITERRANEA2017.

The Abertis Foundation has presented its International UNESCO Centre for Mediterranean Biosphere Reserves at the Cervantes Institute in Marrakech, coinciding with this city’s hosting of the United Na-tions Climate Change Conference (COP22).

The UNESCO International Centre on Mediterranean Biosphere Reserves in collaboration with the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB) organized a seminar on September 29th 2016, to which many UAB Masters students from several countries were invited. The event took place in the UNESCO Centre located within the premises of the Abertis Foundation in Castellet i la Gornal, Barcelona. The IUCN Centre for Mediterranean Cooperation (IUCN-Med) was invited to share its main findings from his compared study of biosphere reserves in the Mediterranean. This study was done in 2015, in the framework of a partnership between the Autonomous organism for National Parks in Spain and IUCN-Med.

The Abertis Foundation was to the fore in the presentation ceremony for the “Cervantes Poets in Arabic” (POCENAR) project, organised by the Cervantes Institute of Marrakesh in the Chilean Embassy in Morocco. The initiative is supporting a programme to translate poets awarded the Cervantes Prize into Arabic so that there is greater access to their work in Morocco and other Arab countries. It will also serve to foster intercultural dialogue and highlight the work of young Moroccan translators.
