The LIFE Biospher’Adapt project aims to implement active and effective territorial support forclimate change adaptation, with a focus on transforming practices in human-influencedterritories. The project will be carried out in seven UNESCO-designated Biosphere Reserves, which serve as “living laboratories” for sustainable development experimentation. The goal is toput in place a set of consultation mechanisms and concrete actions to encourage and supportpolitical and socio-economic stakeholders in these territories to reflect on, plan, and implementthe necessary adaptations to address climate challenges in their specific contexts.
The project will run for five years (2025–2030) and will be structured around three main pillars:
Three Biosphere Reserves from the MedMAB network (Gorges du Gardon BR, Falasorma - DuiSevi BR, and Cévennes BR) and the CTFC, as UNESCOMED Center, are partners in LIFE Biospher’Adapt project.
UNESCOMED will contribute to the international dissemination of the project results, especially at the Mediterranean level, and will also foster possible synergies with the RES-MAB project. Through this partnership, UNESCOMED Center reaffirms the strategic role of Mediterranean Biosphere Reserves in leading innovative, cooperative responses to climate change, fostering research, and strengthening regional resilience in line with the UNESCO MaB Programme’s mission.
