The abertis foundation today launched a road safety action in Madrid and Barcelona focused on the busiest nightlife areas of both cities. With the aim of making people enjoying a night out aware of the potentially fatal consequences of irresponsible behaviour, a group of volunteers with spinal cord injuries as a result of a traffic accident will remind people of the danger of driving under the influence of alcohol and drugs, as well as distractions at the wheel.

The abertis foundation is one of the main sponsors of the major Dalí retrospective that will open this Saturday at the Reina Sofía in Madrid. The exhibition is entitled Dalí. All of the poetic suggestions and all of the plastic possibilities.

Disabled drivers with a valid driving licence and disability card issued by the Department of Social Welfare and Family Affairs of the Generalitat of Catalonia are entitled to a free VIA-T device and other special benefits.

The project, in progress since last year, has been extended to four schools in the Sarrià-Sant Gervasi district with the aim of improving road safety around schools while at the same time integrating young people affected by Down syndrome or other intellectually disabled people in the workplace.

Castellet castle, the headquarters of the abertis foundation, is hosting a selection of pieces from the Episcopal Museum of Vic (MEV). This museum boasts a varied and exceptional collection. As of last Thursday, 7 February, visitors have been able to enjoy a selection of pieces that highlight two important aspects of life inside a Catalan castle, such as Castellet castle.

The abertis Group will today present a new abertis chair in Transport Infrastructure Management, created in conjunction with the University of Chile’s Faculty of Physical Sciences and Mathematics. The presentation event will take place this afternoon at the Spanish Embassy in Chile and will be attended by the Ambassador, Íñigo de Palacios; abertis‘ CEO, Francisco Reynés; the Director of the University of Chile’s Engineering School, James McPhee, on behalf of Francisco Brieva, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Sciences and Mathematics; the Director of the abertis chair in Chile, Sergio Jara; the President of the Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Chile, José María Castillero; and the Spanish Embassy’s Economic and Commercial Advisor, José Antonio García.
